NC LIVE AI Community of Practice Discussion
The NC LIVE AI Community of Practice will host its next discussion on Tuesday, June 9th, from 2 - 3pm. It will be co-hosted by Kaitlin Kehnemuyi, Associate Head of Access Services for NC State University Libraries.
This session shifts the focus to how AI can be used to support workflows in Access Services. Drawing on her expertise in circulation and frontline operations, Kaitlin will share how she creates the space for full-time staff and student workers in her department to determine AI’s role in Access Services.
The discussion will center on creating low barriers to entry, specifically looking at how AI tools can streamline certain tasks and see examples of where it has worked well.

Discussion Goals:
- Explore practical AI applications for circulation, reserves, and general Access Services workflows.
- Support student workers by identifying AI tools that can assist with training, FAQ management, and daily tasks.
- Share strategies for building a curiosity-driven culture that keeps pace with rapid technological shifts in public-facing roles.
